Bull Roarer
From Traditional Witchcraft Wiki Project
A bull roarer or wind roarer is a flat plate of wood that is pierced at one end, and through this a length of twine is passed. The bull roarer is then swung about the head at great speed, so eliciting a roaring and wailing noise, which changes pitch with the speed at which it is spun. Some witches, especially those in the West Country use them in the countryside to summon spirits and raise spirit power.
