Cunning-folk, or Cunning Men and Woman, were also known as wise-women, wise-men, conjurors and wizards. Historically speaking, the cunning men were not always so benevolent toward witches and actually assisted in working magic against them and even assisting in witch hunts. The reasons for the animosity of the cunning men toward witches ranged from business competition to religious differences.
