Divination (Greek μαντεια, from μαντις "seer", anglicized in the suffix -mancy, is the act of ascertaining information by interpretation of omens or supernatural agency.

Divine
To divine is to make something out by magical insight. The term derives from the Latin divinus, which means soothsayer; it is from this that we get the word divination. It is also linked to the Latin divinatus, which literally means "to be inspired by a god".
