Doom
From Traditional Witchcraft Wiki Project
A person's Doom is their fate; it is their destiny. However, doom was a law or ordinance in Anglo-Saxon England, and so carries connotations of a person's fate being ordained as a judgement based upon their behaviours. The word doom comes from the Old English dOm, meaning a judgement or statute; it is akin to the Old High German tuom, meaning 'condition', 'state', and the Old English dOn, meaning 'to do'.
