Get lost box

A Get-Lost Box is a wooden box, typically surrounded by fabric of some kind, such as white cotton, a stocking, or red thread & red wax, and containing something the witch wishes to be rid of. It is to be taken to a crossroads, normally at midnight, and there either buried or left for an unwitting person to pick up and take away, such is an act of what is popularly called contagious magic. It is most often used to rid a person of warts and other maladies, but may adapted to many ends.
