Keppen

A keppen is a "pointer" used to direct magical "power" to its intended recipient. Such things might be of various woods, fossils (such as the belemnite), animal teeth, antlers, horns, pointed stones and similar. They may also be included in other objects, such as the keppenised broom, which is a besom with a belemnite fossil bound onto the ash staff at the end that is to be thrust into the birch brush.
