From Traditional Witchcraft Wiki Project
(Redirected from Perambulatory)
Perambulation is to walk about the boundaries of a territory, such as a manor or forest, in order to assert & record the boundaries. There are many perambulatory rites, which start in size from a simple walk about one's garden to the old royal tour, wherein the King would tour the length & breadth of his land to denote his rulership over it. such rites include the Beating Of The Bounds & share some similarities with the practice of circling.
The word comes from the Latin perambulre, which is a composite of per- & ambulre, meaning "to walk".
