Prayer
From Traditional Witchcraft Wiki Project
To pray is to make an entreaty to a spirit, patron or god in order to obtain something, whether it be a worldly good, an answer to a question, some healing or similar.
The word prayer derives from the Latin precari, meaning "to ask earnestly" or "beg", coming from *prex (plural preces, gen. precis), meaning "prayer", "request", "entreaty". This in turn comes from the Proto Indo-European base *prek, which also means to ask or request.
