Sacrifice
From Traditional Witchcraft Wiki Project
To make Sacrifice is to give offer something up, whether food, drink, incense, plant, animal or human life, or similar, normally to gods or spirits as an act of appeasement, propitiation, veneration, or worship. It is often considered to be a selfless act. The word sacrifice is from a Middle English verb meaning 'to make sacred', which comes from the Latin sacrificium. This Latin word is composed of two parts, these being sacer, meaning 'sacred', and facere, meaning 'to make'.
