Scathach (The Shadowy One) is the warrior goddess of Alba (Scotland), whom the greatest of Irish warriors when to her to be trained in martial arts and war-like combats. Its was she who the famous warrior god CuChulainn went to, to be trained in arms. She was eventually bested by him and he was given her daughter, Uathach as his wife. Scathach is the eponymous goddess of the isle of Skye, and it was she who also prophesied CuChulainn's fame as a hero.
