Spirit Trap

A Spirit Trap was (& still is) sometimes made by filling a glass bottle with short pieces of thread or wool, so as to form a maze. This tangled maze of thread is intended to trap & confuse the spirit, so ensuring it becomes trapped within, thus keeping it out of mischief. Spirit houses are sometimes made after a similar fashion.
